The cost of groceries remained flat from June 2026 to July 2026, but year-over-year, prices are up in several major categories. (AL.com file photo)

Grocery prices for the month of July remained flat compared to June, but prices remain higher year-over-year, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The agency found that from July 2025 to July 2026, the overall cost of food at home (groceries) is up 2.7%.
