Description

Folks in Beaver Valley are growing older, and have started wondering how they will manage when they can no longer chop firewood, plow the fields, or clean the outhouse.
When a stranger arrives in town with plans to build a lavish retirement home, the folks eagerly hand over their life savings to reserve their places. However, there’s something fishy about this Al Zeimer and his beautiful but nefarious side-kick, Ivy Dripp. When the schoolmarm decides to investigate, she finds herself in mortal danger. Will she escape the villains’ evil clutches? Who will come to her rescue? Will the town’s elders get the pickleball courts that they were promised?
For the answers to these burning questions and more, come see the MAD Players’ newest melodrama, “Out to Pasture—or How to Get Old Without Even Trying.”
It’s full of laughter, suspense, and even some singing and dancing, and is suitable for all ages. Performances will be at 7pm on February 13 and 14 at the Fort Jones Community Center, and at the Avery Theatre in Etna at 7pm on February 20, with 2pm matinees on February 21 and 22. The Fort Jones shows are a benefit for the Scott Valley Rotary Club; tickets are $20 (which include hors-d’oeuvres, dessert, and two drinks), advance tickets recommended, call 530-598-4490 for purchase. Tickets for the Avery Theatre shows are $15 each and can be purchased at the door.
Come on out to boo the villains, cheer for the heroine, and have a great time with your friends and family!
