Henry Shigehiro Sakamoto, a civic leader in Portland’s Japanese American community who also shaped Oregon’s grain economy, died in November at the age of 98.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION On 12/27/25 at about 2:45pm, officers were dispatched to a disturbance with a weapon at a residence near SE Tualatin Valley Highway and SE 18th Avenue.
