Incumbent State. Rep. Daniel Nguyen, a small business owner, and challenger and middle school teacher John Wasielewski are both running in the May 19 Democratic primary to represent House District 38, which covers Lake Oswego and portions of Southwest Portland.

Democratic Rep. Daniel Nguyen of Lake Oswego is facing a primary challenge from John Wasielewski, an educator at Lake Oswego Middle School. Whichever candidate wins in theMay primaryis likely to have a clear path to claim the House District 38 seat in November.
