Jacksonville Applegate Club: Frosty Morning, Hot Breakfast, Quiet Heroes

District Governor Chris Waugh rose early on the frosty morning of Thursday, April 16th, to drive to Jacksonville and arrive before the club's 7 am meeting. A hot breakfast awaited at the Bella Union Restaurant.

President Roger Thom welcomed the Governor and reviewed his plan for the morning's program.

Governor Waugh was thrilled to meet PDG Carl Nelson, who served District 5110 as Governor in 2000-2001.

President Roger had several awards to present. Jill Tompkins received one for her ongoing fundraising expertise. As the club says, nobody says no to Jill.

On the quieter side, Jerry Hayes received an award. He is one of those people who sets the meeting up before everyone else arrives.

The group discussed what makes Rotary so different from thousands of other nonprofits. The answer: the way Rotarians leverage their resources. A wonderful conversation followed.

Finally, and not quietly, the Jacksonville Applegate Club sends its greetings to all of District 5110.
