BANDON – Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center announces its clinical and non-clinical Employees of the Month for May 2025.

Employees of the Month are nominated by their peers and voted on via an anonymous poll. Awardees receive points on the hospital’s AwardCo platform, which they can redeem for merchandise or gift cards, and also receive a designated parking spot for the month.

CLINICAL – Alison Becher, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapy Dept. 

I believe Alison Becher deserves Employee of the Month in recognition of her exceptional dedication and flexibility to both her team and her patients. She consistently goes above and beyond by stepping in wherever she is needed, whether that’s on days or a night shift. Her adaptability and willingness to help fill in gaps in staffing has been invaluable. Most notably, she recently stayed an additional six hours into the day shift to ensure patient care was not disrupted, which is an extraordinary display of teamwork. Alison is not only dependable and hardworking, but also a true team player. She brings a positive attitude to every shift and advocate strongly for patients, ensuring they receive the best care possible. Alison’s actions consistently reflect the values and missions of our hospital. She is an asset to our team, and I believe she truly deserve to be recognized as employee of the month.

NON-CLINICAL – Andrew Okey, Purchasing Clerk, Materials Dept. 

First nomination: Andy Okey always seems to be everywhere at all times. If you need it, he has it. If he doesn’t, he will do whatever it takes to get it for you. Andy is always smiling, he always has funny jokes, and he always lights up the entire room upon entry. I constantly ask him to go above and beyond to get supplies for the lab, and he delivers EVERY SINGLE TIME. The lab loves Andy!

Second nomination: Andy Okey is the best because he got us a very needed coupler and tubing for one of our pieces of equipment. It’s made my job so much easier, I’m ecstatic. We couldn’t do our jobs without Andy and all the crew in their department.
