Juneteenth Oregon festival returns for 53rd year

There were several cheerleading squads performing in the parade. The Urban League of Portland marched in the parade. Despite the rain, attendees gathered to watch the parade on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The World Stage Theater marched in the parade. The Grand Marshalls of this years parade were Pastor Dennis Payne II and First Lady Debra Ingram Payne of First AME Zion Church. The Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center marched in the parade. Someone marching in the parade gives a Juneteenth flag to a kid watching on the sides. The Kirk Green band played in the parade route. Parade attendees were given small Juneteenth flags to wave. The Equitable Giving Circle, a nonprofit focused on food equality , gave out flowers to attendees. The Clara People''s Freedom Trail Parade began in 2016. Portlamd Mayor Keith Wilson marched in the parade. Trimet participated in the parade. Parade attendees were given small Juneteenth flags to wave. Everything Beauty is a Black owned skincare product business that vended at the Juneteenth Oregon Festival. Black owned businesses set up booths at the Juneteenth Oregon Festival on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Portland Books through Bars, a nonprofit that provides reading materials to incarcerated individuals across the country. Food carts set up shop on the street next to Lillis Albina park. Smitty's Specialty Sausages sold lunch at the festival. The 53rd Juneteenth Oregon Festival took place at Lillis Albina park.

Despite the gloomy weather Saturday in Portland, people gathered together to celebrate the Juneteenth Oregon festival.
