Penny and Phil Knight's $2 billion gift to to Oregon Health & Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute more than doubled the second-largest charitable gift this year, according to a new list. The Knights were photographed in November 2023 at an Oregon Ducks basketball game in Las Vegas.

Phil and Penny Knight’s $2 billion pledge to Oregon Health & Science University’s Knight Cancer Institute was more than twice as big as the second-largest charitable gift made this year in the United States.
