Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek spoke Thursday at an electrical substation in Salem on measures to ensure data centers cover the costs of supplying them with electricity.

Gov. Tina Kotek hailed pending electricity rate hikes for the state’s data centers Thursday and suggested Oregon should consider additional steps to protect consumers and the environment as the industry grows.
