Lebanon Rotary: Community Roots, Creative Traditions, and a Sneaky Award
District Governor Chris Waugh visited the Lebanon Rotary Club on Wednesday at noon, gathering at Ma's Restaurant with a club deeply embedded in its community.
President Kim Cleveland wears many hats—"Contact President," treasurer, meeting setup helper, and AV wizard. Governor Waugh had to get creative (and sneaky) to have her sign an award without suspecting a thing! 🤫
Additional awards celebrated Brandy O'Bannon, who keeps the club running smoothly, and Joanne Nelson, the outstanding club secretary.
A unique highlight: Lebanon doesn't just have Interact—they have Junior Rotarians! These high school students serve as young volunteers and are viewed as informal future Rotarians. Maya Van Dyke updated the club on their latest activities, showcasing the next generation of service.
Remarkably, Lebanon funds all their service projects without holding traditional fundraisers. Their secret? A membership deeply rooted in the community, many having lived there their entire lives.
This year's focus is membership attraction, and they've jumped at the chance to connect with other clubs across the District!
