FBI agents and other law enforcement at the scene at Southeast 146th and East Burnside Street, where a vehicle ended up after allegedly being involved in a shooting with Border Patrol in Portland, Oregon, Thursday, January, 8, 2026. A man and woman were both injured in the shooting.

When our journalists first heard a federal officer may have shot someone in Southeast Portland last Thursday, they jumped into action.
