In a rematch of a 2024 state quarterfinal, the Mountain View Cougars (1-0) welcome the Lebanon Warriors (0-0) to Bend for a Class 5A nonleague clash Friday night. The Cougars, coming off a 42-13 season-opening victory at Springfield, will look to continue their success against Lebanon after beating the Warriors twice last season – a 15-14 regular-season win followed by a commanding 41-14 victory in the playoffs. Mountain View, which has reached back-to-back 5A state championship games, will rely heavily on two-time all-state running back Angel Valenzuela. Lebanon finished 7-4 last season and features senior wide receiver/safety Logan Large and three-year starting quarterback Brison Edwards. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Friday, September 5 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
