LOOKINGGLASS, Ore. - One man is dead and another in custody in an apparent homicide that took place in Lookingglass Sunday. On Sunday, October 11, 2026, shortly after 3:45 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call from 57-year-old Matthew William Bronsert of Lookingglass requesting assistance at a residence in the 7000-block of Lookingglass Road. When deputies entered the residence, they located a deceased adult male inside of the main residence with multiple gunshot wounds. The nature of the death appeared to be of foul play, and the victim's name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. Bronsert was later questioned and admitted to shooting the victim. He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The Douglas County Major Crimes Team was activated and is currently leading the investigation, which remains active. There is no on-going threat to the public.
