The damaged government rental car that Luis Niño-Moncada had rammed into after six Border Patrol agents in four unmarked cars had surrounded his car in a medical office parking lot on Jan. 8, 2026.

The Venezuelan national who was shot by a U.S. Border Patrol agent during a confrontation outside a Southeast Portland medical building in January was sentenced Wednesday to time served – eight and a half months in custody – for ramming his pickup truck into an unoccupied car rented by federal agents.
