Description

OHA release - Measles is spreading across the United States, and in Oregon. Measles is a virus that spreads very easily through the air when someone who is infected breathes, talks, coughs or sneezes. The virus can float in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves a room.  Also:  Hepatitis B vaccinations for infants, and screening for birth parents, are declining - What you should know:  Fewer newborns are getting the hepatitis B vaccine at birth than they were four years ago.  Fewer birth parents are being tested for hepatitis B during pregnancy.  If a baby gets hepatitis B at birth, up to 90 percent will have it for life. About 25 percent of those children could die later from serious liver problems like cirrhosis or liver cancer if they don’t get treated.
