On April 12th, 2026, at around 3:20 PM, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office investigated a hit-and-run traffic crash which occurred on Libby Lane, involving an off-duty police officer and his family.   
  
Deputies located the suspect vehicle on S. Barview Lane, and identified damage to both vehicles.  The driver of the suspect vehicle, Crystal J. Walter, showed signs that indicated possible impairment, and after further investigation, Crystal J. Walter was arrested for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.  
   
Further charges of Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver and Reckless Endangering will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.  No injuries were reported, and the off-duty police officer and his family are okay.  Crystal Walter was issued a criminal citation to appear in court.
