MAYOR'S MESSAGE As we approach the Christmas holiday and prepare to close out the year, it feels especially fitting to pause and reflect on the many reasons we have to be thankful. The end of the year offers a natural moment to look back with appreciation and to look ahead with optimism for what the coming year may hold. I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who lives, works, and contributes to the City of Coos Bay. Time and again, our community demonstrates what it means to come together supporting one another, lending a hand when it is needed, and showing resilience through challenges and celebrations alike. It is this shared spirit of care, cooperation, and pride that defines Coos Bay and makes it such a special place to call home. Earlier this week, several City Councilors had the opportunity to personally thank our City staff for their dedication throughout the year. We stopped by City Hall and other City facilities with homemade treats as a small gesture of appreciation for the more than 130 employees across six departments and multiple locations who work every day to keep our community safe, welcoming, and well-run. It was a simple act, but a heartfelt one. As we move into the holiday season, I hope your days are filled with peace, warmth, and time with loved ones. May the New Year bring fresh possibilities, renewed energy, and continued strength for our community. Thank you for being the people who make Coos Bay such an extraordinary place. Warm holiday wishes and best hopes for the year ahead. With gratitude, -Joe Benetti, Mayor of Coos BayPhotos from Coos Bay - City Government's post
