On August 2nd at around 6:13 pm, LCSO received a report of an elderly man who had walked away from his home in the 29600 block of Jeans Road in Veneta. 72-year-old Steven Jay Friedman was last seen by family around 3:20 pm at his residence. Friedman has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Anxiety, and he left without any medication. Friedman also took no phone, or personal effects with him. Friedman has left home previously under similar circumstances but was found at a business in the local area. LCSO deputies and Search and Rescue volunteers responded to the area to look for Friedman but so far have been unable to locate him. Friedman is described as a white male who is about 5’10” tall and weighs between 200-225 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue style hooded full zip sweatshirt, blue jeans and gardening style shoes. He was also believed to be wearing a green or black colored long sleeve T-shirt. Friedman should be wearing a medical alert necklace that lists his identifying information. The most recent photo available to investigators has been attached to this release. At this time Friedman has been entered as missing. Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911, or LCSO non-emergency at 541-682-4150.
