Update, 9:42 a.m., Sept. 28th - TILLER, Ore. - Deputies have located Kayleigh Ann Prukop and confirmed she is safe. She has been reunited with her family and is no longer considered missing. No additional details will be released this weekend. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the members of the community who assisted in locating Kayleigh. Update - TILLER, Ore. - Deputies continue their search Saturday for Kayleigh Ann Prukop. At this time, deputies believe it is probable that Kayleigh either met up with someone or accepted a ride; however all possibilities are being investigated. Residents and anyone passing through the area are encouraged to remain vigilant. If you see Kayleigh, her small white dog, or any suspicious activity, please contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office immediately at (541) 440-4471, referencing case number 25-3392. Kayleigh is described as 5'6", 135 lbs, with maroon red hair and blue bangs, and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black leggings. Kayleigh has two prosthetic legs, several missing fingers, and a cleft palate. She speaks with a heavy lisp and is reported to be developmentally delayed, cognitively operating at a pre-teen level. Law enforcement continues to actively search the area. Anyone with cameras, dashcam footage, or other information from the area is asked to come forward, as even small details may assist in locating her safely. Kayleigh left her residence on South Umpqua Road on foot at approximately 2:00 p.m., accompanied by a small white dog. She may have been walking to a friend's house on Crume Ranch Lane in Tiller. Her current whereabouts are unknown to both family and law enforcement. Anyone with information is asked to contact Douglas County Communications at (541) 440-4471, referencing case number 25-3392.

Missing Douglas Co. Female Found Deceased

UPDATE 09/27/25 7:00 PM - RIDDLE, Ore. - At approximately 5:30 P.M., 9-1-1 dispatchers were advised that the body of Mrs. Hart was located near her residence. Deputies confirmed her death and have notified her next of kin. The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office has been notified and is investigating the death. There are no indications of foul play at this time. The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the many volunteers and community members for their efforts in trying to locate Mrs. Hart. The men and women of the Sheriff's Office extend their deepest sympathies to the Hart family. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by volunteers from Douglas County Search and Rescue, REACH Air Medical Services, Cow Creek Tribal Police Department and Myrtle Creek Police Department. No further information is expected to be released at this time. ORIGINAL POST 9/27/25 12:30 PM: RIDDLE, Ore. - Deputies and Search and Rescue crews are actively searching for 90-year-old Riddle resident Shirley Hart. Mrs. Hart has dementia and wandered away from her home in the 1300-block of Canyonville Riddle Road sometime during the night. She is considered to be at risk. Shirley has gray hair, weighs 90 lbs, wears dentures and is likely barefoot. Her clothing description is unknown at this time. Residents in the immediate area of Shirley's residence are asked to check any unlocked vehicles or outbuildings as she is known to enter those and sleep. If you have seen Shirley or have any information, please contact the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at (541) 440-4471 referencing case #25-3397.
