A motorcyclist is dead after a collision in Northeast Portland, followed by the ambulance in which the rider was being transported also crashing, police said.

The motorcyclist, whose identity hasn’t been released, collided with a car near Northeast 15th Avenue and Lombard Street at about 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement. Officers arrived to find the motorcyclist “suffering from critical, life-threatening injuries.” The driver of the car had minor injuries.
