Description

People staying in 24-7 shelters like the River District Navigation Center in Portland, which is set to close soon, are among those accounted for in Multnomah County's homeless population database.

After a change to how Multnomah County officials track who is homeless, about 3,500 fewer people will make the list. That doesn’t mean those people have become housed. The county is just changing the way it counts.
