North Bend Police Dept. report to City Council - New Officer Swearing-In: A new officer will be sworn in on Wednesday, January 28. The recruit recently returned to the area with her family and will be introduced at an upcoming City Council meeting. (North Bend Strategic Plan: Public Safety).  Executive Leadership Training: Chief Mitts, Captain Perry, School Resource Officer Jerad Jaehnig, and Community Resource Officer Kelan Solesbee attended the Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police Executive Leadership Training Seminar in Seaside. Training topics included officer wellness, ethics, and building community partnerships. (North Bend Strategic Plan: Public Safety; Policy Review).  Low-Light Firearms Training: The department conducted four-hour low-light firearms training on January 21 and 22 focusing on the tactical use of light sources during threat engagement. (North Bend Strategic Plan: Public Safety).
