City of North Bend release - The North Bend Public Library is seeking a creative and dedicated Youth Librarian to lead programs and services that inspire lifelong library users.  Youth Librarian:  Full-Time, North Bend Public Library.  Do you have a passion for connecting children and families with the joy of reading, learning, and discovery? The North Bend Public Library is seeking a creative and dedicated Youth Librarian to lead programs and services that inspire lifelong library users.  About the Position:  The Youth Librarian designs and delivers innovative programs and services for children and families, both inside the library and through community outreach. This position also manages youth collections, provides excellent customer service to patrons of all ages, and serves as a leader within the library team.  Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with some Saturdays and occasional evenings.  Key Responsibilities:  Develop and lead engaging storytimes and other youth programs.  Build partnerships with schools, childcare providers, and community organizations.  Select, evaluate, and manage juvenile collections.  Provide welcoming and knowledgeable reference and readers’ advisory services.  Assist patrons with technology, digital resources, and library services.  Create displays and outreach initiatives that promote library use and literacy.  Serve as person-in-charge and support staff training as needed.  Qualifications:  Education: Bachelor’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Coursework in Library and Information Science, Education, or a related field preferred. Preferred Education: Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program.  Experience: At least two years of experience working with youth in a public library, educational, or community setting.  Strong communication, program development, and technology skills.  Ability to create an inclusive, welcoming environment for diverse families.  Why Join Us?  At North Bend Public Library, you’ll be part of a creative and supportive staff dedicated to enriching our community through literacy, learning, and connection.
