People return to Tryon Creek State Natural Area in southwest Portland, one of the first Oregon state park sites to reopen during the coronavirus pandemic, in May 2020.

It’s well established that getting outside is healthy and fun, but new research takes things a step further, finding that outdoor recreation is a public health necessity.
