For people facing a cancer diagnosis in Curry County, receiving treatment currently means traveling outside the county for care, up to 7 hours round trip.
CHN’s Community Health Needs Assessment identified both a need for greater access to specialty care and travel as a barrier to receiving health care. It also found cancer mortality rates in Curry County significantly higher than state and national averages.
