The Newport Marathon, a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, was held Sunday on the Central Oregon Coast. Asher Morgan won the half-marathon (1:16:07.1) and Jackie Loutzenheiser won the female portion (1:29:48.8). Michael Warner, of Tennessee won the open marathon (2:41:38.6) and Emma McCune, San Franciso, won the women’s portion (2:57:32.2). More than 800 runners and walkers challenged the course.
