City of North Bend release - NORTH BEND, Ore. — The City of North Bend invites the community to celebrate the completion of Phase Two of the North Bend Oregon Visitor Information Center Master Plan on Friday, October 9, at 4:00 p.m. at the Visitor Information Center, 745 California Avenue in Downtown North Bend.  Phase Two marks another major step in the continued development of the Visitor Information Center property as a welcoming community gathering place and destination for both residents and visitors. The completed improvements expand opportunities for community events, live entertainment, visitor engagement, and the display of important pieces of North Bend’s history.  The celebration is open to the public and will include live music by Border Patrol, featuring rockin’ country music, along with a presentation from the City of North Bend. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the historic 1937 Federal Fire Engine and Merci Boxcar, both of which have recently been relocated to the Visitor Information Center property.  Food will be available for purchase from Coastal Slice during the celebration.  The event recognizes the partnerships and community support that have helped transform the Visitor Information Center property through the City’s multi-phase master plan. Phase Two continues the City’s efforts to create an active, welcoming space that connects tourism, community events, local history, and Downtown North Bend.  Community members are encouraged to attend and help celebrate this exciting milestone.
