Description

ODFW release - Includes updates to fishing, hunting, crabbing, clamming, and wildlife viewing. Buck deer seasons continue until Nov. 7 in western Oregon. Reminder youth age 12-17 who have not yet filled their general Western Oregon deer or W. High Cascade (119A) tag can hunt Nov. 8-9, too. Elk seasons are starting to kick off including controlled seasons in late October and general seasons West Cascade and Rocky Mtn Elk second from Nov. 8-16. Remember to get your tag in advance of the deadline. Make plans to get your deer or elk tested for CWD, by visiting check stations open in early November or another option (field office, taxidermist or meat processor.) Browse the Big game hunting forecast 2025 to learn what to expect this season. Check the Game Bird Hunting forecast 2025 - bird hunting seasons continue into 2026. NEW turkey hunting opportunity: Now through February 28, 2026, hunters may obtain a beardless turkey permit to allow the harvest of three hen wild turkeys or turkeys without a visible beard. See page 26 of the Game Bird regulations. This is a private land only hunt with separate regulations from the standard fall turkey hunt. Be on the lookout: King tides return November 5-7, get out and enjoy this spectacle but keep a safe distance and beware of sneaker waves.
