OHSU's board of directors scheduled a Monday meeting on a resolution authorizing OHSU President Dr. Shereef Elnahal to negotiate with the National Institutes of Health for up to six months on whether its primate center could eventually transition toward a sanctuary.

Oregon Health & Science University’s leaders were expected to vote Monday to begin formal negotiations with the National Institutes of Health over the future of the Oregon National Primate Research Center, a move that would launch a formal review of one of the university’s most debated and expensive operations.
