Description

I was invited to the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast on Wednesday, August 27th. Some 600 teachers and staff were treated to breakfast with their co-workers from around the school district.
That evening, I joined some of the Board members to answer their questions about starting a satellite club. Stay tuned for that.
At their lunch meeting on Thursday, I was prepared for all the displays – I’ve heard about them – everything from two roll-up banners at the entrance, to a welcoming greeter table, complete with swag to purchase. Also, look at this cool engagement idea- You can buy a $5 square to “bet” on the OSU/UO Duck game. If you win, your $500 is matched by the club with 500 points for a Paul Harris Award!
The Redmond club is focused on engaging its members. President Branegan Dixon and I presented the Above and Beyond Award to Joe Kosanovic for all his promotional work – it’s fitting because he designed the award template for me! Also receiving awards were AG Keever Henry, Friendship Exchange Chair Paul Spain, Membership Chair Marv Kaplan, Treasurer Becky Lu Hummer, and Secretary Trish Pinkerton. I spoke about leadership opportunities in the clubs and in the district.
