Hector Carranza, 37, a former Gresham police officer, cut off his GPS bracelet and has fled, state officials said. He faces 56 felony charges in Multnomah County and 27 counts of second-degree sexual abuse in Clackamas County.

A state public safety board Thursday took the unusual step of stripping a former Gresham officer of his police certification as he faces dozens of sexual abuse charges and disappeared after cutting off his GPS monitoring bracelet.
