Ethan Cantrell, a recent Alsea High School graduate, died on Aug. 20, 2024, from an infection from a puncture wound sustained while falling from a log, according to a new lawsuit.

The family of a teenager who died after a doctor stitched up a gash on his arm — but allegedly failed to remove the pine needles and moss that were lodged inside — has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the Corvallis hospital and medical providers who treated him.
