Description

The state Supreme Court can decide to consider the petition, accept briefs from the state and hear oral arguments, or decline to accept the petition and let the Appeals Court ruling stand.

Two Harney County gun owners, backed by Gun Owners of America Inc., have petitioned the Oregon Supreme Court to weigh in on whether voter-approved gun control Measure 114 adheres to the state constitution.

***Media Release*** Case #: S2026-00483 Barview Ore - On March 28th 2026, at 10:15 p.m., a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop of a blue Audi coupe, which stopped near 60688 Wilshire Lane, in Barview. A female passenger, the deputy recognized as Dusty L. Setzer (39) exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. A records check confirmed Ms. Setzer had four active warrants for her arrest. Ms. Setzer was placed under arrest on the outstanding warrants. A search of Ms. Setzer’s person later revealed narcotics packaging material, which contained fentanyl residue. Dusty L. Setzer (39) was transported to the Coos County Jail on the outstanding warrants and Unlawful Possession of Fentanyl. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for Driving While Suspended. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
