Description

Abiqua Falls, a 92-foot waterfall found outside Silverton, has been on property owned by the Mount Angel Abbey for nearly a century. In 2026, Oregon state lawmakers hammered out a deal to purchase the 40-acre plot of land, a favorite destination among Pacific Northwest hikers.

As the Oregon Legislature wrapped up its short session earlier this month, a bipartisan group of lawmakers celebrated a small win: securing the funds to buy Abiqua Falls.
