During the five-week 2026 legislative session, Oregon lawmakers approved a slate of health policy bills aimed at strengthening provider oversight, lowering barriers to preventive care and protecting access to reproductive health services.

Oregon lawmakers spent this year’s legislative session protecting key health programs, including access to abortions and gender-affirming care, vaccinations and Medicaid services, while preparing for sweeping federal changes that could reshape the state’s health care safety net.
