Oregon lawmakers advanced a bill to temporarily pause most new hospice licenses while strengthening oversight to prevent fraud before it takes hold in the state. As of late January, the Oregon Health Authority listed about 75 licensed hospice providers operating statewide.

Oregon lawmakers on Monday advanced a bill designed to strengthen oversight of hospice providers and prevent fraudulent operators from entering the state.
