Oregon Army National Guard aircrews with Golf Company, 1st Battalion, 189th Aviation Regiment, identified and solved a critical equipment compatibility issue with the Vita Vertical Rescue System during training in June 2025. The aircrews collaborated with Skedco to develop an extended litter strap, designated SK-1189-V after their unit, that accommodates the advanced hoist stabilization technology while reducing patient securing time. The U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory has certified the Oregon-designed strap for Army-wide adoption, making it standard equipment for all MEDEVAC units.
