Description

A student at Lafayette Elementary School in Albany attends a summer program for help with reading and math back in 2019. Funding for such programs is in jeopardy after the Trump administration withheld billions of dollars, including $73 million that is shared across Oregon schools and districts.

With the start of the academic year just six weeks away, school districts and community colleges around Oregon say they are struggling to cope with the Trump administration’s abrupt decision to withhold $73 million in education funding intended for free or low-cost after-school programs, teacher training and migrant student supports.
