At the July 17th meeting of the Coos Bay-North Bend-Charleston Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) Board of Directors, Executive Director, Janice Langlinais and the VCB's Advertising Agency, Echo Creative, presented the plan for marketing and advertising for FY2026.  This year's plan continues the very successful Nimble & Flexible plan the VCB has been using these past few year. No year-long contracts allows the VCB to pivot quickly and easily and take advantage of opportunities that come up throughout the year. Case in point, when United Airlines moved the Denver to OTH flight from two days per week to daily, the VCB jumped on board with an entire ad campaign targeting the Denver area market. And we are seeing great success so far from this campaign.  The VCB is also taking a conservative approach in our budgeting. Nationwide, travel is seeing a dip due to economic uncertainty and the loss of major international inbound travel to the U.S. Our budget this year is exactly the same amount as last year at $813,000 or approximately 70% of the VCB's budget, although with some re-allocation of funds in certain areas.  An example of this, the VCB is currently re-designing the website, which has been in place since 2018, with a fresh new look, and with completely new technology from the ground up that allows us to build the site with full accessibility in the coding. The VCB received a $42,500 grant from Travel Oregon to help accomplish this goal.  In the Nimble & Flexible category, the VCB has opted to concentrate on much more trackable digital and social advertising while minimizing print advertising, which is not trackable at all. This has allowed us in the past few years, to see a larger number of quality visitors to our website, with many more visitors taking action - including signing up for our newsletter, downloading our visitor guide, or clicking a link to one of our many partner businesses in the area (i.e. hotels, outfitters, attractions, restaurants and retail to name a few).
