Description

Rising kindergarteners attend a summer session to familiarize themselves with what it's like to be in elementary school. Oregon has one of the country's lowest number of instructional hours, but there's not an immediate solution on the horizon.

Oregon students spend less time in class than their peers in almost any other state and research demonstrates that has a direct impact on their overall academic performance, a national expert told a panel of lawmakers Tuesday.
