It’s down to the championships in the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 4A Softball Championships and it is No. 1 vs. No. 2 after the semi-final round on Tuesday. Three out-of-the-four finalists were from the same league, the Cowapa Lg. In the top bracket, Scappoose and Astoria played eight innings before the Indians prevailed, 5-3. In the bottom bracket, No. 2 St. Helens eliminated No. 11 Gladstone, 3-0. It’s St. Helens and Scappoose for the 4A Championship, Saturday, June 6, Jane Sanders Stadium, on the University of Oregon campus, at Noon. The 3A Finals will also feature No. 1 vs. No. 2 at Jane Sanders Stadium, Saturday, 3p. South Umpqua, which is headed to the 4A classification next year, is No. 2 and beat No. 3 Yamhill-Carlton, 5-0, Tuesday. In the upper bracket, No. 4 Dayton lost at No. 1 Vale, 7-1. In the 2A/1A Final at noon, Jane Sanders Stadium, No. 4 Heppner/Ione will play No. 3 Regis, out of Stayton, for the Championship. Heppner/Ione beat visiting No. 8 Clatskanie, 12-8 and in the bottom bracket, No. 3 Regis downed No. 2 Weston-McEwen, 9-1.

In the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 4A Baseball Playoffs, two road lizards came up with big upset wins to advance to the championship game Saturday, June 6, at Roto Rooter Park, Salem, 7:30 p.m. No. 12 Tillamook is having a Cinderella playoff drive and will play No. 3 Marist Catholic. Tillamook won at No. 1 Henley, 3-1 (9), and Marist Catholic won at Scappoose, 4-1. In the 3A semi-finals, No. 1 Taft is in the championship game Saturday, 5p, PK Park, Eugene against No. 7 So. Umpqua/Days Ck. Taft beat visiting Warrenton, 2-1 at Lincoln City and South Umpqua won at No. 3 Creswell, 4-1. In the 2A/1A Classification, No. 4 Monroe/Alsea lost at No. 1 Kennedy, 14-5, and No. 2 Crosshill Christian beat visiting No. 3 Umpqua Valley Christian, 7-6. Kennedy and Crosshill Christian play at 4p at Roto Rooter Park Keizer.
