OSU release - CORVALLIS, Ore. – A pair of Beavers were named Major League Baseball All-Stars on Sunday. Left-handed pitcher Matthew Boyd was named a reserve for the National League and outfielder Steven Kwan is a reserve for the American League. Boyd is named an All-Star for the first time and Kwan is headed to his second in back-to-back years. Boyd, who played for the Beavers from 2010-13, is 8-3 with a 2.65 earned run average in 17 games in 2025. His eight wins are tied for fourth in the National League and his 2.65 ERA ranks sixth. He has pitched in 199 games at the MLB level, making 185 starts. The lefty is 54-72 in his career, sporting a 4.63 ERA in 1,007 innings. He's recorded 978 strikeouts in his career. Kwan has played in 84 games this season, and the left fielder is batting .293 with 19 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 26 runs batted in. He has scored 37 runs and swiped 11 stolen bases in 13 attempts. The 2016-18 letterwinner has appeared in 511 games at the MLB level and has won a Gold Glove in each of his first three seasons while batting .286 with 96 doubles, 18 triples, 31 home runs and 176 RBI. The 2025 MLB All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 15 at 5 p.m. PT at Atlanta's Truist Park. The game will air on FOX.
