NEWBERG, Ore. – Oregon State closed out the regular season at the George Fox NCAA Final Qualifier with a historic performance from freshman Bea Pettersson, who broke the school record in the shot put and secured a qualifying mark for the 2026 NCAA West Preliminary Round. Pettersson highlighted Thursday's competition with a winning throw of 15.81m/51-10.5 in the shot put, surpassing the previous Oregon State record and moving to No. 1 in program history as a freshman. The mark also met the qualifying standard for next season's NCAA West Prelims. Earlier in the day, she opened competition with another victory in the hammer throw at 55.45m/181-11. Oregon State's multi-event athletes also turned in strong performances in the heptathlon. Competing unattached, Peyton Craven captured the event title with 4,706 points, while Mia Kemp placed third with 4,120 points. Craven recorded personal bests in both the 100m hurdles at 14.47 and the high jump at 1.67m/5-5.75, while Kemp added a long jump personal best of 5.02m/16-5.75. In the field events, Lexi Hunt and Kyra Bakke tied for first and second, respectively, in the high jump after both cleared 1.63m/5-4.25. Maddy Juhler added a third-place finish in the pole vault at 3.53m/11-7. Kaylen Rabalais placed second in the javelin with a throw of 41.55m/136-4, while Havana Alonso finished third at 37.59m/123-4. Maella Hodgson ran a personal-best 2:11.35 in the 800 meters to place second, while Ruby Lorenz followed in fourth at 2:15.07.
