OSU release - CORVALLIS, Ore. – Dax Whitney picked up his fourth Freshman All-America honor of 2025 Tuesday when D1Baseball.com announced its first and second teams. Whitney is a First-Team selection for the third time. He's also been named a first-team honoree by Baseball America and Perfect Game and was a second-teamer by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Whitney is OSU's first Freshman All-American since Gavin Turley in 2023 and the first to be honored four or more times since Travis Bazzana in 2022. Whitney is also one of six Beavers as an All-American when D1Baseball.com selected to him to its third team last week. The Blackfoot, Idaho native finished the 2025 season with a 6-3 record and 3.40 earned run average. He made 17 starts and struck out 120 in 76 2/3 innings. The 120 strikeouts rank eighth for a single-season at Oregon State. The righty was dominant over his last six starts of the season, which included three NCAA postseason games. He worked 32 innings over that stretch, scattering 19 hits, 13 walks and six earned runs while striking out 55. That included a season-best 12 in an NCAA Regional win over TCU, and then 10 a week later against Florida State in the Corvallis Super Regional.
