Our team is celebrating National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week at Lincoln County Animal Shelter! This week, we are recognizing the incredible, hard-working team and volunteers who create a safe haven for the animals at our shelter. This team works tirelessly year-round and we want to highlight two major areas they have made massive strides in recently: Transforming the Lives of Unsocialized Dogs Not all dogs walk through our doors ready for a family home. Many arrive terrified, defensive, or completely shut down. Thanks to the progressive care, patience, and specialized behavior rehabilitation from our dedicated staff and volunteers, these dogs are given the time and tools they need to learn to trust again. Watching a once-unsocialized dog blossom into a happy, wiggly companion ready for adoption is a testament to the team's true compassion. Exceptional Advances in Medical Care Providing a safe place to stay is just the baseline; ensuring health and wellness is another area our shelter truly shines. From routine vaccines and spay/neuter procedures to managing complex, critical medical conditions, the shelter has elevated its medical care standards to ensure every pet receives the necessary treatment when they need it most. Healing these animals inside and out gives them the ultimate second chance at life.
