On November 2nd, at about 1:30 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded with Junction City Police and fire personnel for a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle on Oaklea Drive near Kinney Lane. Fire personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian died on scene. The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The Lane County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded to investigate. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. No criminal charges have been filed at this time. We would like to extend a thank you to the Lane County District Attorney’s Office, Junction City Police Department, and Junction City Fire Department for their assistance with this incident.
