Please join us in congratulating Deputy Zach Riesen on his graduation yesterday from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Basic Corrections Academy!

Over the past 6 weeks, Deputy Riesen completed intensive training focused on inmate supervision, communication and de-escalation skills, use of force, defensive tactics, ethics, mental health awareness, and Oregon corrections law.

He now returns to Douglas County to begin his agency-specific training and continue developing the skills needed to serve safely and effectively in our jail facility.

We’re proud of Deputy Riesen’s commitment to his academy training and are excited to welcome him back as he takes this next step in his career.Photos from Douglas County Sheriff's Office's post
