This image provided by KEZI 9 News shows the scene on Interstate 5 on Tuesday near Eugene after a former Washington state police officer wanted after killing two people, including his ex-wife, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a chase in Oregon, authorities said. His 1-year-old baby, who was with him, was taken safely into custody by Oregon State Police troopers.

Lane County sheriff’s Deputy Justin Wilson opened the door to the 2009 Toyota Corolla, his eyes focused on the driver.
