Description
Portland police are working Thursday morning to clear out protesters inside and outside of the Portland State University library.
Activists opposed to Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza took over the library Monday night. Since then, university and city officials have told protesters several times that they must leave, or they could be arrested.
Just before 6 o’clock Thursday morning, police announced they would clear out the people who are still trespassing. Several blocks around the library will be closed as police conduct the operation. They said it could take hours.
PSU President Ann Cudd announced Wednesday that the campus would reopen Thursday. She said the library would be closed and that anyone inside was criminally trespassing.
