Description

Protesters at Portland City Hall rallied against a controversial Portland General Electric transmission upgrade project in Forest Park that would require the utility to clearcut more than 370 trees on about 5 acres in the park. The rally came ahead of the Council considering two appeals on whether to overturn a previous city decision to approve the project.

It is that time again, the Curry County Sheriff's Office will be assisting several community members who donate cash for Christmas, to families of Curry County that could use a little extra help with the holidays. As I have done so for several years now, I am asking for nominations from our social media friends, for families that could truly use some help for the upcoming Christmas holiday. If any of you know a family that could use the help, send me an email at john.ward@currycountyor.gov with the names of the family members, their address and contact number. Please add a short narrative why you are nominating them. Once we get the nominations, we will select the families to present them with some Christmas Cheer Cash. A huge shout out to the anonymous doners, who make this all possible. From all of us here at the Curry County Sheriff's Office, we wish you all the best and happy holidays.
